A woman whose remains were found in a trash compactor in the basement of a public housing building in Brooklyn this month most likely died after slipping down a garbage chute and into the compactor.
Michelle Montgomery, 39, likely tumbled into the trash chute while trying to retrieve her purse on Jan. 31, police sources said.
